How to Clean Converse

Make your old converse look brand new!

Before I left for vacation, I noticed how disgusting my chucks looked, so I researched how to clean them. After doing so, I wanted to let y'all know how I got them to look like they just came out of the box again.

You will need:

  • Water

  • Baking soda

  • Detergent

  • Lemon Juice

  • Bleach

  • Toothbrush

  • Baby powder

Here's what to do:

  1. First, take your laces out. You can wash them separately and it makes the whole process easier.

  2. Then, rinse your shoes with water.

  3. Mix the baking soda and detergent together into a paste. You'll use this with the toothbrush to that scrub the shoes.

  4. Use this mixture to soak and scrub your laces as well.

  5. After that, pour lemon juice and bleach onto the shoes and rub in more baking soda.

  6. Once that's done, let everything dry.

  7. Next, rinse the shoes again. You can throw them into the wash by themselves if you want, but I did not.

  8. Let dry. Some say to add baby powder before drying but that's up to you! In my opinion, it just makes a mess.

And then you're done! Enjoy your clean shoes!
