May old acquaintance be remembered.
Almost every year since my boyfriend was in middle school, he's gone with his friend's family to Moraine State Park, located in Portersville, PA, for new years festivities. I was able to tag along with him this time around. BUT, before heading up, Willy wanted to spoil me with some extra birthday treats since my birthday and graduation fell on the same weekend. Our dating anniversary was that weekend as well!
So, as you can see in the photos above, we headed to the Cheesecake Factory in Southside. What you see on my plate is the Bang-Bang Chicken and Shrimp dish. It was amazing! Plus, you can never go wrong with mimosas. Last but not least, we ordered cheesecake to go -- obviously. My two favorites are the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and Lemon Raspberry Cream. Afterwards, we headed to the Rivers Casino because I had never gone before. We played on several slots, but the biggest pay-out came from a Dolly Parton themed slot machine. (Thank you, Dolly!) After that, it was time to head up to the park.
In addition to our friend's family, there are a couple other families that always rent cabins next to theirs to hang out with everyone. Everyone knows each other, so one family would host a dinner each night. The more the merrier! We stayed in the "kid's cabin," and hosted a dinner as well. I didn't cook, but I helped make the sangria!
One day we played disc golf, the next day we drove to the Grove City Outlets, and another day we went hiking at Mill State Park. Finally, we celebrated New Years!
