FASHION

Somewhere on the spectrum between a vintage queen and a hipster, you'll find me. I have a soft spot for patterns, especially florals and animal prints.

Fashion Design Inspiration

Fashion is everywhere!

In my Aesthetics of Fashion class, we had the STEAM boards assignment. So, I wanted to share what I came up with for each collage.

For the record, this is what STEAM stands for:

S - Science

T - Technology

E - Engineering

A - Art

M - Math

Science

For science, I picked Marine Biology because I love the beach and there are many interesting textures to pick from.

Technology

For technology, I chose lighting based designs. I loved light up shoes as a kid (and I still do). Black lighting that makes clothing glow in the dark is another favorite of mine.

Engineering

Since my major was interior design before I switched to fashion merchandising, I focused on architecture for the engineering board.

Art

Initially, I thought origami was a perfectly fine "fashion inspired by art" example, but I misinterpreted the directions of the assignment brief. We were supposed to pick a specific artist rather than a specific art technique...

...Therefore, I changed my art collage to fashion inspired by Claude Monet.

Math

Last but not least, I chose geometry for the math collage, as geometric shapes can create many futuristic fashion looks.
