4th of July Makeup

Time to sparkle!

I don't really know why I'm did my makeup today because I'm going swimming anyway, but it's the thought that counts, right?

This is a pretty natural look consisting of my regular foundation, blush, powder, and mascara that I use in my every-day routine. However, instead of adding just a little highlighter as a finishing touch like I normally do, I went all out. This way, I shine and sparkle just like fireworks!

I applied the highlighter from my cheekbones, to my temples and the corners of my eyes. I also dusted a little on my eyelids, right underneath my eyebrows, the tip of my nose, and my cupid's bow. However, the most prominent and eye-catching place I added my highlighter was all around my tear ducts. That's what really makes my eyes pop.

I used the Kat Von D Alchemist palette which includes blue, green, pink, and purple iridescent highlighters. It cost me about $32 at Sephora. Some cheaper alternatives consist of the following:

  • BH Cosmetics Blacklight highlight palette (includes six colors) for $17

  • NYX Duo-chromatic highlighters in the colors "Twilight Tint" (looks like the purple shade) and "Lavender Steel" (resembles the pink shade) for $8

  • Wet 'n Wild MegaGlo highlighting powder in the color "Lilac to Reality" for $5

Last but not least, I put on some lip gloss, rubbed my finger in the pink highlighter, and then dabbed it on my lips. After that, I had my completed "holographic" look! Happy 4th of July!
